Project Brief
We performed an SEO audit and found a number of issues with duplicate content, missing or duplicate tags, usability problems and general issues with the WordPress set up. V4 Wood Flooring wanted to improve the website’s design and fix the issues found in the website audit.
After considering all the options it was decided that the most cost-effective resolution was to rebuild the website. The biggest part of the redevelopment was to re-code the website to make it mobile-friendly and gave us a strong foundation that we could build upon for the future.
Solution
During the re-development of the V4 website we improved the product management aspect of the website so it was easier to maintain. This involved adding in custom meta boxes to the WordPress product area so data could be stored and shown using a custom page template.
Throughout the project we implemented a number of changes to the set-up of their theme to make the website easier to update and maintain. We focused on providing a great experience on mobile devices and then rearranged the sections to fit tablet and desktop devices.
Solution
Before we started working with V4 Wood Flooring, they were trying Facebook advertising and Google Pay Per Click without getting much return on their investment. This meant customers didn’t spend much time looking at the website and would visit one page and not revisit.
The first thing we did was redesign and rebuild the website so it resonated with the companies professional branding. We made improvements to their website so it was fully mobile compatible and we improved the layout of content throughout the website.
Results
We worked closely with V4 to improve the content and restructure the site. When the new website was launched the site’s organic SEO traffic increased by 85% in the first 3 months. Website redirects were set up for pages that were moved or deleted, this was necessary to maintain SEO rankings.
